Will I be notified before you arrive?Yes - your crew will send you a message when they set off, along with an estimated time of arrival to your location.

What happens when the crew arrives?They'll send you a quick message or knock to confirm your service and make sure everything's spot on. Then they'll get set up, lay out safety cones if needed, and be ready to go within about 5 minutes.

Will you need my vehicle(s) keys?Yes - with your permission, we'll ask for the keys to stop the vehicle auto-locking during the service. If you'd prefer not to hand them over, that's no problem at all - just note that if auto-locking gets in the way, we may only be able to complete the exterior.

What's included in my valet?Each service comes with its own checklist - from our essential valets to full-day details. When choosing your service you can see exactly what's included by clicking on "More Information". If your vehicle needs more attention, we recommend booking a 3 hour+ service to ensure everything's covered properly.

Do you bring everything with you?Absolutely - our mobile crew comes fully equipped with water, power, and all the gear needed to get the job done, no matter where you are.

What happens when the valet is finished?Once the job's done, we'll let you know either in person if you're home, or by message if you're not. Payment is due at the end and can be made by cash, card (contactless or chip & pin), or bank transfer. If you're not in and haven't paid yet, we'll text over the bank details. If we've been given keys, we'll safely post them through your letterbox unless you've asked us to do otherwise.

How far in advance do I need to book?We recommend booking as early as possible to secure your slot, but if your postcode is scheduled for that day and we have availability, you can book even on short notice, but please do not book with less than 12 hours notice as we won't be able to guarantee your appointment. For the best experience, we recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance.

What are your working hours?We work in time windows between 8:00AM and 8:00PM, Monday to Sunday!

How do I book a service?Booking is quick and easy through our website. Just choose the service you'd like, then choose your preferred date and time. Carefully read and answer the simple details needed on the booking form. Then you're good to go! You'll be sent an E-Mail to confirm your booking. (If the amount of vehicles needed is not on there, please contact us over the phone or by E-Mail). Alternatively, you can contact us over the phone, email, or social media to book directly.

Can I book for a day you’re not in my postcode area?Bookings must match the day we are covering your postcode area in that week/day (Members Of Our Team Deal With This). Just select your preferred time & date after selecting your service, then fill in the details on the booking form and select "Request To Book", from there, a member of our team will approve or ask to move dates to match our rota and best suit you.

What services do you offer?We currently offer four different services of mobile valeting/detailing: - The Shorty's Starter: Our essential valet, a quicker but quality clean focused more on the exterior, with a full interior vacuum and dust-down included. Perfect for regulars, maintenance washes, or keeping things tidy between deeper cleans. - The Shorty's Starter Plus: A cracking all-round valet that brings your car back to life without going overboard. It’s for those in-between moments. Just right for folks who want their motor looking tidy and feeling fresh again, inside and out. - The Shorty's Standard: Our most popular full valet - a noticeably deeper clean than "The Shorty's Starter Plus", inside and out with extra time spent where it counts. Perfect for keeping your car looking fresh, tidy, and properly cared for. - Shorty's Signature: This is our intensive deep valet - inside, outside, and every nook and cranny covered with care. This service goes far beyond a standard clean, tackling heavy build-up, stubborn grime, and neglected areas with added precision and time. It's the go-to for anyone wanting that proper reset, without stepping into full-day detail territory. - Shorty's Workday Wash: A convenient valet service at your workplace, including a thorough exterior wash and a light interior vacuum and wipe-down of seats, doors, centre consoles, and pedals. (Please note, this service is only available if seen at your workplace).

What if I saw a special offer advertised?If you’ve seen a promotional offer (e.g., on social media, website, leaflets, or billboards), you must inform our team before payment is made. While staff usually know about current offers, it’s your responsibility to mention it at the time. Discounts cannot be applied after payment. Proof of the offer may be requested.

Why is Shorty's Workday Wash more affordable than your other services?Shorty's Workday Wash is built for efficiency. It's a lighter, streamlined service designed to fit around the working day - with no deep detailing or heavy extras. Because we're often valeting multiple vehicles in one location and not traveling between jobs, it keeps our costs down - and we pass that saving onto you. Plus, in busy workplace settings where vehicles may move throughout the day, a quicker/more-efficient service just makes sense. You can book up to a maximum of 3 hours at workplace locations (including The Shorty's Standard). Anything longer or more in-depth will need to be booked from a residential address to ensure we have enough time and space to do it properly.

What is Shorty's Workday Wash?Shorty's Workday Wash is a service where we bring the valet to your workplace. Whilst you're busy grafting, we're in the staff car park fighting dirt & grime like it insulted our mum. Please note this service is only available if you've seen one of our forms to sign at your workplace. However, you can still book our other services (no more than 3 hours) at your workplace.

How do you classify vehicle sizes?The attending Operative will decide whether your vehicle is classed as Small/Medium or Large at the time of service. Large vehicles include all vans, all types of SUVs (e.g., Honda CR-V, Range Rover, BMW X5, Audi Q7), 7-seaters (e.g., Ford Galaxy, VW Touran), and pickups (e.g., Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux). Small/Medium vehicles include hatchbacks, saloons, and smaller estate cars (e.g., Ford Fiesta, VW Golf, BMW 3 Series).

What if my car is very dirty or muddy?If a vehicle is heavily soiled with thick mud, building site debris, or extreme contamination, the valet may be refused. If you think your vehicle might fall into this category, please contact our team before booking — we may recommend reserving two of the Shorty's Standard time slots (up to 6 hours) to ensure there’s enough time to complete the job properly. Alternatively, you can book from our other deep clean services (Shorty's Signature or Shorty's Showroom). Please note: in these cases, the cost for all time slots booked will apply as normal.

When and how do I pay?Payment is due after the service is completed. We accept card, contactless, cash, or bank transfer. If immediate payment isn’t made, payment must be completed by bank transfer within 7 days. Failure to pay may result in legal action.

What happens if it rains?We continue working in light or heavy rain. In heavy rain, we’ll apply a free Shield Coat to help protect your paintwork. Only in extreme weather (storms, floods) may the service be rescheduled.

Can I leave my keys if I won’t be home?Yes — but keys must be left securely with a trusted neighbour, family member, or workplace manager. Keys must not be hidden or left unattended. You must also call management before the valet to confirm key access details. Our online team will verify booking information to ensure everything is in order before proceeding.

What happens if you’re running late?While delays are rare, they can happen due to traffic or other unavoidable issues. If we are delayed, we will contact you as soon as possible with an updated estimated arrival time.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my booking?We prefer at least 7 days’ notice where possible. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice before your valet, a 25% cancellation fee of the service booked may apply. Please note: if your booking was made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service, the same cancellation fee still applies if it is cancelled. - You can cancel or reschedule your booking by contacting us via E-mail at info@shortys.group, or calling us on +44 1423 423 458. We'll just need to confirm a couple details such as your full name, booking time and date, service booked, vehicle details and your booking address/postal code.
